As I had mentioned on Wednesday, I went to a marketing seminar in Arlington this week. It was held by National Seminars Group and I have to tell you, it was fantastic.
The setup of the entire day was great. After an hour long intro, the rest of the day was split into five 45-minute sessions. You had a pick of two topics to listen to each session, so there was a lot of variety. The best part of the entire day was that the seminar didn't drag on. I felt like the day flew by and I walked away with a ton of ideas and information. I would highly recommend the Marketing seminar if it is in your area!
As I promised on Wednesday, I am going to pass on some of the tips that I got from the seminar:
- Change the focus of your business from what you provide to what the customer wants. For example, take your company's brochure and every place it says I or We, change it to You. Now you are telling the customer what they actually want to hear!
- Figure out what your company's USP (Unique Selling Proposition) is. This is what you offer, whether it is service, price, features, etc. Most important, don't copy your competitors, be unique!
- Focus on building customer referrals. 70% of business is from word of mouth.
- Lastly, in order to increase business, try developing new uses for your products, make it more convenient or make some minor cosmetic changes
I hope these tips have helped you out. I know that I found them incredibly helpful, so keep watching for the new and improved A Royal Flush!!
Have a great weekend,
Alex
