Can anyone tell me what...

...the summer solstice is? Well, it just so happens that the summer solstice not only takes place during June, but also during December. See the summer solstice takes place when the tilt of the plants semi-axis, whether its the northern or southern hemisphere, is closets to the sun. So when the summer solstice begins in one hemisphere, the winter solstice begins in the other. The summer solstice usually takes place between June 20-21 and December 21-22, depending on the hemisphere.

In our past, the summer solstice was a time to celebrate renewal, life, fertility and the chance of a good harvest. Many people celebrate in different ways, like the Santa Barbara Summer Solstice Celebration which includes a parade and three-day festival.

Do you celebrate the summer solstice in a special way? Or do you simply enjoy the warm whether? Let us know! Don't forget to comment and subscribe!
