The Pros and Cons of Office Pets

If you have ever worked with an office pet, you know that there are both good and bad things about having one.

To start off, they are HUGE distraction. They feel the need to not only distract you with their cuteness, but they will physically sit on your keyboard and prevent you from doing work. On the other hand, having an office pet can make the work environment a lot less stressful. This is scientifically proven and companies like Google and Amazon allow the furry co-workers.

Also, they think they own the place! Don’t you dare try to sit in their seat or walk near their spot; they become very territorial. But if you bring a guest, they are the first to greet them and are always on their best behavior. The result of their good behavior is guests that have fallen in love.

Office pets, for some reason, think they can follow you to the bathroom. Like I said earlier, they own the place therefore they must know your whereabouts at all times. In all honestly, an office pet forms a different relationship with each person in the office. This relationship can actually act as an outlet for employees and in turn increase productivity.
