  3. Tradition has it that the first Olympic champion was Coroebus, a cook from the city of Elis.
  4. The Olympic games were of fundamental religious importance, featuring games alongside ritual sacrifices honoring both Zeus and Pelops.
  5. The Olympics costs the competitors at least six figures with no guarantee of a return.
  6. The United States has won 2189 more medals in Summer Games than any other country.
  7. Norway has won the most medals(263) in Winter Games.
  8. The five Olympic rings represent the five major regions of the world;Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceana.
  9. At least one color of the Olympic rings is present in every national flag in the world.
  10. Africa, South America and Antarctica have never hosted an Olympics.
