Spice up the Office!


For anyone who works in an office, it can get a bit boring after a while. And with the stress of busy season, no matter what time of the year, a little stress reliever is nice to have around. According to lifehack.org, there are 10 ways to make the office environment fun.

Did you know?


112 years ago, the first J.C. Penney Store opened in Wyoming. In honor of this great feat, here are 10 things about J.C. Penney!

  1. J.C. Penney stands for James Cash Penney
  2. As of 2010, there were 1,106 stores open
  3. JCP Credit Card were first issued in 1959
  4. In 1963, JCP issued their first catalog
  5. Most of JCP's success came in the 1980s and 1990s
  6. In 1983, JCP began selling their products online
  7. In 2007, JCP partnered with Sephora, the cosmetics store
  8. In 2011, JCP decided to close their catalog outlet stores
  9. JCP and Martha Stewart are in the works of adding a 'store within a store' of Martha Stewart Products
  10. In 2012, JCP decided to have a new pricing system; instead of having sales, JCP would have "Every Day", "Monthly Value" and "Best Prices" prices.

Get to know Connecticut!


As many of you know, Connecticut is one of the homes for A Royal Flush. How about we take a look at a few facts about Connecticut and see all the cool things that have taken place in the awesome state

  3. Connecticut is also know as the Constitution State
  4. America's first trade association was formed in Naugatuck Valley, CT

  6. The original speed limit in CT was 12 miles per hour. Could you imagine?!
  7. There are three roads in CT called "The Melon Heads Road"
  8. George W. Bush was born in New Haven, CT
  9. PEZ candy is made in Orange CT
  10. Cattle Branding began in Connecticut

Doctor Doctor!


In Honor of Doctor’s Day, here are a few facts about the amazing humans that are essential to our lives.

  1. Doctors spend, on average, 10 or more years  studying their field of specialty
  2. There are doctors in almost every field including music, education, engineering and others.
  3. Most doctors don't have the best hand writing
  4. Doctor-patient communication has a real impact on the patient's health
  5. Most patients want to shake hands with their doctor
  6. Patients expect their doctor to be these 7 things; confident, empathetic, humane, personal, forthright, respectful and thorough
  7. It just so happens that surgeons are taller and better looking than other doctors
  8. Even doctors believe medical myths, including that we only use 10% of our brain
  9. On average, doctors spend 9,000 hours studying while in medical school
  10. Lastly, most doctors spend $100,000 in their studies

New York Road Runners - Half Marathon

Today was the New York Road Runners Half Marathon! As you can see, we were there (to the far left). For those of you who may or may not some fun facts about today's run, here are ten things out the half marathon.


  1. 15 Olympians and 11 national record holders ran today.
  2. The run began in Central Park, took the runners through Times Square and finished in lower Manhattan.
  3. This year's run is a new course so it is eligible for World and American record setting.
  4. 20,750 runners finished the course; 9,761 men and 10.989 women.
  5. The first ever professional wheelchair field was featured today.
  6. This year's NYC half kicked off the Five-Borough Series.
  7. Many use the NYC Half as a preparation for the full Marathon, a whooping 26.2 miles.
  8. The first place wheelchair finisher was Joshua George from Illinois.
  9. The overall winners were Geoffrey Mutai in the men's division and Sally Kipyego in the women's division; they are both from Kenya.
  10. This is the Half Marathon's 9th year.
